For most of us who believe in God were taught to believe in God. We were told that God provided a heaven on earth, The Garden of Eden, where he created Adam and Eve. They roamed naked and free, one with all living things. Where they disobeyed Gods orders to not eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. So since then we’ve been living in a world with too much knowledge of evil. That’s our sin that is passed down from generation to generation. We made laws to enforce Gods commandments structure of living good and not evil. I guess you could say ignorance is bliss if that’s how God wanted us. Because we know too much, or think we know too much, it gave us the power to define God, to explain how he was able to create everything. Bringing forth the study of science. So is science evil? Is that one point of evil knowledge that God didn’t want us to be aware of?
Science explains a lot of things. The scientific age for Earth is around 4.5 billion years old. Scientifically humans are a very new species, when compared to all the ice ages, jurassic/triassic periods, continental shifting. How does 4.5 billion years fit into a weeks worth of Gods work? I find comfort in my own thinking that maybe where God is time is very slow. So slow that 1 day in heaven is like 500 million earth years. I don’t know…
But that science is told to us too. What do you believe is the truth? All of our History is recorded by people with the power to create whatever they want, omit the truth, and under or over embellish. When has a country ever been in control by a truly morally justified government who wasn’t corrupt and cared for the well being and happiness of their people? Whoever fits that criteria is in a rare bunch and I’m sure didn’t make the history we are constantly fed. What if life, pre garden cast out, is kind of considered the Matrix. Adam and Eve were like Neo searching for the truth, something better and instead ended up in the real world.
Makes me think about Santa Claus. We’re fed the story of Santa and made to believe in him because if we were Good he would reward us and if we were bad he would give us lumps of coal. Then when we reach a certain age you tell us not to believe. We definetly live in a world where we are the puppets getting our strings pulled. I ask again what can you believe? Thousands of years of brainwashing. Yes, brainwashing. No matter how you look at it. That’s what it is.
It all boils down to having faith and believing in fulfilling a positive purpose. You have to define it for yourself.
